How to add nofollow to a link

How to add nofollow to a link

Sometimes you need to use the "nofollow" attribute on a link. There are many situations where this might be suitable, but a particularly important one is that Google recommends it for affiliate links.

For one-off cases we recommend switching to the "Text" view on the WordPress editor, then simply edit the tag like this:

rel="nofollow">Link text

That's it, all that is needed is the  rel="nofollow" portion inside the link tag. Copy the following and paste it in:

rel="nofollow"

For more frequent use of the technique, it might be better to install a plugin that will apply the nofollow attribute to all affiliate links that have the same domain (e.g. amazon.com). If you'd like us to recommend and install a plugin for you, send an email to support@performancefoundry.com.
