How do I make a post sticky?
Sometimes you want an article to appear first among all of your posts, similar to pinning a tweet or Facebook post to the top of your feed.
Luckily, there's a nice easy way to do this.
In the WordPress post editor, go to the post you'd like to pin. In the "publish" box on the right-hand side of the screen there are options for changing post status (draft, pending, published etc.) visibility, and publishing date. Click the "edit" button next to "visibility" and you'll an option to "Stick this post to the front page". Tick that box.
If you only want the post to stick to the front page for a certain period of time, you can unstick it whenever you like by returning to the post and unticking the box.
